The Green Home Tour is an annual event hosted by the Colorado Green Building Guild.

It’s a self-guided tour of sustainable and high-performance homes across Boulder, Denver, and Fort Collins, paired with the Building Better Expo showcasing the products, practices, and professionals behind sustainable building in Colorado.

Attendees can expect to meet homeowners, gain direct access to the builders and designers who created the homes, and a chance to see green building principles in action. The day wraps with an after party at Relish in Louisville.

The 2026 tour will take place Saturday September 19, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

CGBG strives to ensure the widespread adoption of sustainable practices to increase the efficient use of resources, create healthier buildings, and support vibrant, sustainable communities through out Colorado. CGBG believes green is for everyone looking for long-term solutions!

The Tour Guide will be made available to all ticket holders via Humanitix (our ticketing system).

A few days before the tour, expect and email with the following title “CGBG 2026 Green Home Tour - Digital Guide.” The message will include instructions to access the Tour Guide which you may want to peruse as you plan your Tour day and which will help you navigate from one home to the next on the day of the Tour.

Families with children are welcome on the tour. However, children 2 and under should be held or in a carrier. Strollers are not allowed in the homes. Children 12+ will require a ticket. Please supervise children closely.

No. Restrooms in the homes will not be available for use. We recommend building in stops at cafes or shops nearby to take bathrooms breaks.

Because most of these are private homes, we do not advertise the locations or specific details until the tour. You will receive a booklet with addresses the day before the event so you can plan your adventure.

The homes this year are located in the areas surrounding:
• Boulder,
• Denver, and
• Fort Collins

While there is not a limited amount of time at each house, we do ask that you be mindful of your time in each home to ensure that as many visitors as possible are able to tour the home.

Yes! If you are interested in helping plan the tour (organizing sponsors, coordinating the venue, promoting and advertising, communicating with homeowners, etc.) please reach out to admin@cgbg.org and we can connect you with the Green Home Tour committee.

We also need volunteers on the day of! Volunteers day-of will have the opportunity to see homes on the tour for half the day for free, and help staff a house during the other half.

The tour is one day only!

Since the tour is self-guided, you can pick which ones you want to see and plan your itinerary accordingly.

Whether you see one home or many homes, you’re welcome to vist the Build Better Expo and/or join us for the After-Party.

Nope! This is a self-guided tour, and you are welcome to go to each one in an order that works best for you!

For the 2026 Green Home Tour, homes are located in or around Boulder, Denver, and Fort Collins. There are 4 or more homes in each area.

Our Build Better Expo and After-Party are open to everyone and will take place at Relish in Louisville (550 S. McCaslin Blvd).
