The Green Home Tour is a self-guided experience spanning homes in Boulder, Denver, and Fort Collins.
Each home is selected for its exemplary approach to sustainability, performance, and design, and each tells a story about the people who built it and the choices that make it exceptional.
The event is open to curious homeowners, design enthusiasts, and building professionals alike, offering inspiration and practical insights.
Your ticket includes:
Access to all featured homes throughout the day (starting at 10 a.m. and concluding at 4p.m. Mountain time)
A digital booklet with details on products, performance metrics, and sustainable strategies used in each project
Access to the Build Better Expo where building professionals are there to answer all of your questions about their work and ideas
An invitation to our happy hour after-party to connect with fellow attendees and professionals
Come get inspired, learn from leading examples of green building, and see how beautiful and functional sustainable living can be.
Proceeds benefit the Colorado Green Building Guild (CGBG) and its programs. Programs include Events & Educational opportunities for building professionals and beyond, Annual Awards, Fire Recovery Resources (Marshall Fire), Policy & Advocacy work to promote sustainability in the built environment, the Advanced Training Scholarship Program and much more!
Each year, CGBG donates 10% of the Green Home Tour proceeds to a non-profit organization aligned with its overall mission.

Tour Details
LOTS OF GREAT SITES!
In 2025, we featured homes in Boulder, Niwot, Lafayette, Louisville and Longmont ranging in size and spanning styles from traditional to modern.
Each home showcased sustainability and high performance in its own way, and together they reflected the wide range of approaches homeowners can take. Check out our Past Homes page to learn more.
This year, we showcase both finished homes and dwellings still under construction, primarily residential projects, at locations in and around Denver, Boulder and Fort Collins.
THE DAY BEFORE THE TOUR (SEPT 18)
Ticket holders receive information about buildings included in the tour. A digital booklet with locations and details on each of the homes or dwellings will be emailed to participants.
Many ways to Learn
Learn about a wide variety of green home techniques and details. We’re showcasing Passive House certified construction, innovative natural material use, and all-electric homes. New-builds, remodels and multiple sizes of home give depth and breadth to the tour every year.
THE DAY OF THE TOUR (SEPT 19)
Homes open to tour participants at 10 a.m. Ticket holders may visit homes in any order they like. We simply ask that you present your ticket at each visit and respect the homeowners’ space by following signs and instructions by volunteers. Builders, suppliers, homeowners or architects who can speak to the green techniques or sustainability practices of the project and can answer questions will be present at each home. Visits conclude at 4 p.m.
BUILD BETTER EXPO
New in 2026, the Build Better Expo runs alongside the self-guided tour, giving building professionals a dedicated space to present their products, services, and ideas to both industry peers and the general public.
After PARTY
The day wraps up with a casual happy hour open to anyone who wants to stick around! It’s informal, it’s fun, and it’s where a lot of the best conversations happen.
A natural, low-key close to a full day and a chance to connect with the people most deeply invested in the green building movement.
